LL-37: Mechanism & Published Research
LL-37 is an alpha-helical antimicrobial peptide of the cathelicidin family, derived from the human precursor protein hCAP-18.
Laboratory studies, including work by Turner and colleagues, have examined LL-37 against bacteria and Candida in diffusion and microdilution assays, along with membrane permeabilization and lipopolysaccharide binding.
Antimicrobial activity depends heavily on salt concentration, organism and assay format, so results should be compared only under matched conditions.
Canada Peptide Supply currently lists 5mg and 10mg lyophilized vials for laboratory research and analytical reference only. LL-37 is not approved for human or veterinary use.
Research use only: this information is provided for scientific reference. Canada Peptide Supply does not provide medical advice. LL-37 is not approved by Health Canada for human consumption, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease.
