GHRP-6 (growth hormone-releasing peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue that acts at the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a).
Receptor pharmacology studies, such as work by Bennett and colleagues, found that GHRP-6 activated G-protein signalling through the human ghrelin receptor with greater efficacy than ghrelin and competed with it at the same binding site.
GHRP-6 is often compared with other secretagogues, such as Ipamorelin and Hexarelin, in receptor-selectivity studies. These comparisons describe experimental pharmacology, not therapeutic performance.
