CJC-1295 with DAC is a long-acting analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). The Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) modification lets the peptide bind serum albumin, extending its half-life.
A randomized, placebo-controlled study by Teichman and colleagues in healthy adults reported prolonged increases in plasma growth hormone and IGF-1, with an estimated half-life of several days.
This sustained profile differs from the shorter, pulsatile profile of the form without DAC, so the two are studied in different experimental contexts. See CJC-1295 no DAC for the other form.
