ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide modelled on part of the three-dimensional structure of erythropoietin (EPO). It is designed to activate the innate repair receptor without the blood-cell-stimulating effects of EPO.
Research has examined innate-repair-receptor signalling, inflammation and small-fibre nerve models. Clinical research includes a small randomized pilot study by Heij and colleagues in sarcoidosis patients with small-fibre neuropathy symptoms.
The clinical evidence base is small and early-stage. Findings do not establish efficacy or safety for the research material offered here.
