Anti-inflammatory tripeptide. Gut and skin research.
Product Information
- Compound: Lysine-Proline-Valine (KPV)
- Category: Inflammation-signalling research
- Form: Lyophilized powder, single-use vial
KPV: Mechanism & Published Research
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH).
In work by Dalmasso and colleagues, KPV was taken up by intestinal epithelial and immune cells through the PepT1 transporter and reduced NF-κB and MAPK inflammatory signalling. The study also examined chemically induced colitis models in mice.
The reported effect was PepT1-mediated rather than melanocortin-receptor-mediated, which matters when designing comparison experiments. Findings are preclinical and do not establish a treatment effect.
Canada Peptide Supply currently lists 5mg and 10mg lyophilized vials for laboratory research and analytical reference only. KPV is not approved for human or veterinary use.
Research use only: this information is provided for scientific reference. Canada Peptide Supply does not provide medical advice. KPV is not approved by Health Canada for human consumption, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease.
